Agency urges precautionary action on endocrine disruptors

The Environment Agency began a consultation exercise in January urging companies to take precautionary measures to protect the environment from endocrine-disrupting compounds. In the face of scientific uncertainty about their potential effects, it is seeking industry's views and co-operation in identifying and phasing out substances which may threaten human health and the environment.
