EPUK revises local air quality guidance

Environmental Protection UK has updated its guidance on how air quality is affected by traffic emissions

Environmental charity and lobby group Environmental Protection UK has updated its guidance on assessing how local air quality can be affected by proposed developments.

It mainly focuses on traffic emissions, but also includes pollution from biomass boilers and the construction industry. Industrial emissions are excluded, as are those resulting from major road development schemes.

The guidance was first issued in 2004 and revised in 2006. The group sought submissions for the new edition last summer (ENDS Report 414, p 21).
