Food giant Nestlé has introduced new sourcing guidelines following pressure from Greenpeace over its palm oil suppliers

Food giant Nestlé has introduced new sourcing guidelines following pressure from Greenpeace over its palm oil suppliers. The campaign group is now turning its attention to HSBC.

Nestlé promises to buy palm oil only from suppliers that protect high conversation value forests, peatlands and ecosystems with high-carbon content. Suppliers must also comply with local laws and consult local communities.

The company will work with a third-party to identify and exclude suppliers breaching the guidelines.
