Puma extends supplier reporting scheme

German sports firm Puma has extended a sustainability reporting scheme for suppliers to two thirds of its product sales

German sports firm Puma has extended a sustainability reporting scheme for suppliers to two thirds of its product sales.

Twenty suppliers in countries including China, Vietnam and Cambodia will be trained on reporting in accordance with the international guidelines set out by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

They will be helped by consultants to compile their first reports, expected in 2011-12.

Puma first tried this approach with three suppliers as part of a GRI programme launched in 2006 with German development agency GTZ (ENDS Report 388, p 21).
