Methane hydrates not an imminent threat
Methane release from the ocean is unlikely to have a major effect on climate this century.1 So says Professor David Archer at the University of Chicago, who modelled the behaviour of ocean methane hydrates with colleagues at the University of California and the Max Planck Institute of Meteorology in Germany.
