Farmer fined after sheep dip destroys 5,000 crayfish

A Cumbrian farmer has been fined £1,500 with costs of £1,409 after a careless sheep dipping operation killed some 5,000 endangered crayfish in the river Mint. The white-clawed crayfish is a rare native species which is threatened by imported species.
