Scottish Water panned over crypto scare

Scottish Water has been criticised by the Scottish drinking water regulator over sloppy water treatment which led to a cryptosporidium health scare last August. The company narrowly escaped prosecution for supplying unfit water, but also bungled its public relations, unnecessarily worrying the public and putting huge pressure on the health authorities.
