Scottish water leakage shock

An annual report from the Scottish Executive has shown that most of the drinking water put into supply in the west of Scotland leaks in the ground.1 The figures for 2001/02 were collected from the three former water authorities and put leakage at 53%, 38% and 36% of supply for the West, North and East of Scotland Authorities respectively.
