Anglian Water fined for sewage leak

Anglian's first fine of 2003 related to a sewage discharge from King's Lynn sewage works in March last year. Public complaints alerted the Environment Agency to the discharge which turned a tributary of the Great Ouse black. The company pleaded guilty before King's Lynn magistrates on 18 February and was fined £17,500 with costs of £1,856.
