Silt pollution costs Transco contractors £30,000
Dutch construction company Nacap BV and Walter Lawrence Civil & Mechanical Engineers have each been fined £15,000 after rivers in north-east Scotland were repeatedly polluted with silt from a construction project. Over 50,000 fish were killed, and one incident turned 20 kilometres of a burn brown with muddy silt.
