Closed-loop recycling demonstrated for plastic car parts

The plastics and automotive industries have produced a series of specifications for recycled plastics intended to give car manufacturers confidence in the feasibility of incorporating used plastics in new car parts. Nissan recently became the first manufacturer to use the specifications, with half of its UK output now containing air cleaner housings containing recycled polypropylene retrieved from shredder waste.
