Environmental technology action plan begins to take shape

A route map towards an EU action plan on environmental technologies was set out in a Communication from the European Commission in March.1 The plan will include a survey of relevant technologies, and set out measures to overcome market and institutional barriers. Four areas - climate change, soil protection, water and sustainable production and consumption - are receiving detailed scrutiny.
