'Extremely poor' management costs Henkel £120,000

Chemical manufacturer Henkel has been fined £98,000 and ordered to pay costs of £21,750 after its Belvedere works polluted a Kent watercourse with a dangerous caustic substance. The site is certified to the environment management standard ISO14001, but Environment Agency inspectors described its management as "extremely poor".
