Study weighs costs and benefits of COMAH regime
The COMAH regulations on major accident hazards have cost British industry about £630 million so far, according to a study for the Health and Safety Executive.1 All but 10% of the firms surveyed have implemented risk reduction measures - but whether the resulting improvements in safety justified the costs is, the study concludes, a "finely balanced judgement".
