Ofwat isolated over sewage odours
A Government consultation on how to deal with odour pollution from sewage treatment works has produced divided responses from the major players. Water regulator Ofwat contends that a voluntary code of practice will suffice - but water companies and the Environment Agency support a tougher approach which would place the industry under an obligation to use best practice.
