DEFRA voices concerns over changes to air quality plans

The Environment Department has voiced concerns about the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister's efforts to rationalise the number of plans that local authorities need to produce. Under the proposals, air quality management plans may be wrapped up into local transport plans - or scrapped altogether in "excellent" authorities.
