MEPs vote for tougher rules on environmental liability
The European Parliament voted to toughen up the draft EU Directive on environmental liability at its first reading of the proposal on 14 May. The key changes provoked a hostile reaction from business interests - though some seem unlikely to be as burdensome as claimed.
