EU study highlights barriers to green tax reform
Mistrust of governments and a poor understanding of the case for shifting taxes onto environmentally damaging activities are key barriers to greater use of environmental taxes, according to a study for the European Commission. The report suggests that revenues should go towards tangible environmental improvements rather than being used to reduce labour taxes.
