Conoco plans massive CHP plant

Oil company Conoco has confirmed plans to build a 730MW combined heat and power plant alongside its Humber refinery. The plant, believed to be among the largest in Europe, will supply steam to the refinery and export electricity to the grid. Conoco also hopes to sell power and heat to neighbouring businesses. Construction will begin immediately, with commissioning planned for 2004.
