Supermarkets tested on food sourcing
Last year, Sustain questioned the eight main supermarket chains - Asda, Co-op, Iceland, Safeway, Sainsbury's, Somerfield, Spar and Tesco - on their policies on local sourcing of products.1 Only Iceland did not have a policy. The rest insisted they were making efforts to increase the proportion of UK produce in their stores.
