Labour back-benchers unhappy about planning reforms
The architect of the Government's proposals for reforming the planning system, Planning Minister Lord Falconer, put up an undistinguished performance when quizzed about them at a parliamentary hearing. The event revealed serious concern among Labour MPs about his proposals to cut out the middle tier of development plans and push major projects through Parliament.
