Coal bed methane project hits public opposition
Local environmental objections to a project to extract methane from unworked coal seams in north Staffordshire were discussed in the House of Commons on 8 January. The debate raised questions about the environmental case for developing coal bed methane and the Department of Trade and Industry's criteria for licensing entrants to the industry.
