Shredders put forward proposals on ELV recycling
Shredder operators have proposed a system for covering the costs of recycling end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) which uses the year in which a vehicle was built as the basis for deciding whether it has a positive or negative value. The system envisages a number of compliance schemes for car manufacturers that would agree contracts on their behalf with recyclers.
