Persimmon fined £3,500 for dust nuisance

Housebuilder Persimmon has been fined £3,500 with costs of £589 after failing to stop dust emissions from one of its construction sites, causing a nuisance to local residents. Persimmon pleaded guilty to the charge of non-compliance with an abatement notice issued under section 80(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 at Doncaster magistrates court on 13 December 2001.
