BP's credibility gap over carbon emissions

BP announced in March that it has met its target to cut greenhouse gas emissions from its operations by 10% nine years ahead of schedule - and intends to keep them at the current level to 2012. But its achievement has been overshadowed by soaring growth in emissions from the company's product sales - which approached one billion tonnes last year.
