National strategy urged for agricultural wastes

Recommendations for a national strategy to deal with agricultural waste have been made by a report sponsored by the Environment Agency and waste group Biffa.1 Many agricultural wastes will soon be brought under statutory control - but, drawing on experience in the EU, the report suggests that this will not be enough to ensure recovery of the main waste streams generated on farms.
