North Sea conference focuses on fisheries, ecosystem protection

Pollution for once took something of a back seat at the fifth Ministerial conference on the North Sea in Bergen on 20-21 March. A few initiatives were agreed on nutrients, hazardous substances and pollution from offshore installations and shipping - but the focus was on fisheries, marine biodiversity, and a new ecosystem approach to protect the North Sea's health.
