DEFRA committee slams inaction on products

Government policies to tackle the environmental impact of products are dealing with damage limitation rather than forming a coherent strategy, according to the second annual report from the Environment Department's Advisory Committee on Consumer Products and the Environment (ACCPE).1 The Committee is particularly critical of the lack of progress in greening public procurement and extending the use of graduated energy labels to cars and homes.
