The scientific community has reacted with pleasure to the Prime Minister's endorsement of the role of science in Britain's future prosperity in a speech to the Royal Society on 23 May. It has also welcomed his criticisms of the "culture of unreason" which he sees as threatening Britain's science base and capacity to innovate.
