N Ireland's backlog on implementing EU rules

The full extent of Northern Ireland's failure to implement EU environmental rules has been disclosed to the Province's Assembly by Environment Minister Dermot Nesbitt. More than 20 items of EU legislation have not been transposed, and infraction proceedings have now been launched by the European Commission in respect of half of these breaches.
