Lords reject EU proposals on GM labelling

The European Commission's proposals on traceability and labelling of genetically modified foods and feeds have been dismissed as impractical by the House of Lords Select Committee on the European Union.1 It wants to stick to the present labelling rules, backed by a "non-GM" label for niche foods - bringing it into conflict with consumer and environmental groups.
