Agency introduces new dangerous substances consents

The Environment Agency is introducing a new discharge consenting policy intended to ensure national consistency and compliance with the 1976 EU Directive on dangerous substances.1 Thousands of consents will be affected as the policy is rolled out over the next few years, with some consents moving in to the top-tier charging bracket and others moving out.
