Storm brews over disposal of CO<SUB>2</SUB> at sea

A planned experiment to inject liquid carbon dioxide into the sea off Norway has aroused strong opposition from environmental groups, which claim that it will open the door to large scale dumping. The row has prompted a review of the legality of disposing of CO2 in the sea and of injecting it into rock formations beneath the seabed - the approach which has attracted most attention in the UK.
