No change for 1,3-butadiene standard
The Government's Expert Panel on Air Quality Standards has concluded that there is no need to change the current UK standard for the carcinogen 1,3-butadiene. A review of recent scientific evidence has given the panel greater confidence that the current standard of 1 part per billion, which is due to be achieved in by the end of 2003, poses "so small a risk to the population as to be undetectable by any feasible study."
