Agency calls for rigour on IPPC site reports

A taste of the "complex and finely balanced" assessments awaiting regulators when businesses apply to surrender their pollution control permits was provided in draft guidance issued for consultation by the Environment Agency in July.1 The guide calls on operators to maintain copious records in order to demonstrate that there has been no pollution at their sites.
