COMAH charges damage industry relations with inspectors

The introduction of charges for regulators' oversight of Britain's most hazardous installations under the so-called COMAH regime has had a significant impact on the relationship between inspectors and industry, according to an official study. Half the companies responding to a survey said they now seek less advice from inspectors for fear of being billed, and a quarter reported a worsening relationship with inspectors.
