Treasury blamed for Government failure on timber procurement

Treasury procurement rules, together with poor communication within Whitehall and "huge institutional inertia," caused the Government's "absolute failure" to fulfil its commitment to buy timber from sustainable and legal sources, according to a report by the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee.1
