Meacher sticks with "unambitious" air quality target for London

The Government has confirmed plans to set less stringent air quality objectives for fine particles (PM10) in London than in the rest of England.1 Concerns that Ministers are taking an unambitious approach towards the next phase of local air quality management (LAQM) have been reinforced by the decision to water down a proposed objective for benzene.
