Industry rejects Agency's call for producer responsibility for tyres

The Environment Agency has warned that statutory producer responsibility for used tyres should be imposed on tyre and vehicle manufacturers if the impending landfill ban is not to lead to widespread tyre stockpiling, as recently seen with fridges. Tyre and vehicle producers argue that voluntary measures will suffice.
