South West Water fined for series of pumping failures

The Environment Agency has criticised South West Water for "poor _maintenance and business risk management" after the company admitted that its sewage pumping stations caused seven pollution incidents last _year. Welsh Water and its contractor United Utilities have also been prosecuted following a leak of sodium hypochlorite from a water treatment works.
