Debate on comparative assessment of pesticides gathers steam

Revised advice on the use of "comparative assessment" to replace particular pesticides where safer alternatives are available has been submitted to Ministers by the Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP). The move followed the rejection of its earlier proposal for a "semi-regulatory" approach by Environment Minister Michael Meacher.
