Anglian and Yorkshire in the dock over telemetry failures

Anglian Water and Yorkshire Water have both been fined for serious pollution incidents caused by telemetry failures at sewage pumping stations. Anglian was ordered to pay £44,000 following failures which resulted in sewage being discharged to a Hertfordshire brook for five days. Yorkshire has been fined £7,000 after polluting the river Calder in similar circumstances.
