Co-op fined for pollution, abstraction breaches

The Co-operative Group was fined £12,000 on 7 October after admitting three offences at its Llangadog Creamery in Carmarthenshire. Ammanford magistrates heard that the company had breached the conditions of its consent to discharge into the river Tywi on two occasions, contrary to section 85(6) of the Water Resources Act 1991.
