South West Water passes dirty dozen convictions

South West Water has now been convicted of thirteen sewage pollution offences this year. The three latest cases were for an escape of thousands of gallons of sewage sludge which "nauseated" local people for five days over Christmas, a spill of 3,500 tonnes of sewage into the Plym estuary which the company described as "small", and a sewage spill across an East Devon holiday beach.
