Animal by-products Regulation eases path for composting sector

An end to the British ban on composting of kitchen and other "catering" wastes is in sight thanks to the recent adoption of an EU Regulation on animal by-products. Member States will have the latitude to set national standards for composting and biogas plants aimed at minimising contamination risks.1
