Agency warns of cash squeeze on environmental protection work
Significant reductions in inspections and enforcement are on the cards following a freeze in the Environment Agency's budget for environmental protection work. The funding on offer from the Environment Department is also expected to force shortcuts in the regulator's preparations for a raft of important new duties.
