Beckett moots halt to Sellafield discharge

Under strong international pressure, Ministers have proposed a moratorium on the controversial discharges of technetium-99 from BNFL's Sellafield works. However, there is a high risk that abatement technology will not be developed in time to treat the waste before ageing storage tanks come to the end of their life.
