Biofuels still stalled without further duty cuts
Chancellor Gordon Brown has promised that fuel duty on bioethanol will be cut by 20p per litre - reducing it to the same level as for biodiesel. But without further reductions, major companies such as British Sugar and Cargill seem unlikely to invest in new production capacity.
