Composting sector digests proposals on catering waste
The composting sector remained in a state of limbo in December as it endeavoured to make sense of proposals to legalise the composting of "catering wastes". The Government has yet to clarify whether enclosed windrow systems will be permitted, and some of the proposed hygiene rules are likely to prove costly and therefore contentious with small operators.
