Magistrates dismiss case against troubled Biffa landfill

An attempt by the Environment Agency to prosecute Biffa for failing to cover waste properly at a Sussex landfill was dismissed in November following magistrates' unusual interpretation of the site's licence conditions. The outcome may lead to changes in the Agency's library of licence conditions.
